After spending 89 excruciating days in the hospital, Selina Jen was finally discharged on Wednesday afternoon. She attended a press conference shortly after her release with fellow band mates from S.H.E and reassured everyone with optimism and a bright smile on her face.
Upon her discharge from the hospital, the 29-year-old returned to her parents' place for a bowl of pork trotters noodles before returning home to her own apartment at Jianguo road. Her fiancé Richard Chang is said to be living with her; her parents and nurses watches over her in the day when he's working.
Still in high spirits from her discharge, Selina personally penned a note of thanks and expressed, "Thank you for all your concern. I felt really happy when I lay on my own soft bed last night. Today's physiotherapy went smoothly; I tried kneeling on the sofa and climbed the stairs.
"Although all these actions were not easy, I will continue to work hard at it; I'll do my best at tomorrow's physiotherapy session!"
Sustaining more than 54% burn injuries from the unfortunate on-set accident with her limbs severely burnt will result in an imbalance of body temperature. It is said that the upper-half of Selina's body is susceptible to feeling cold while her limbs feel warm and hot.
To aid her recovery process, the Taiwanese artiste's family moved away angular furniture to make room for necessary physiotherapy equipment in the house.
According to friends, Richard is reportedly feeling torn over Selina's current state of happiness. While she has to continuously release positive news on her recovery process, the singer has to swallow and deal with her own grievances in private.
Her fiancé plans to hold a press conference against the production crew and Hunan television station but was advised against the move by Father Jen who told him to "accept and let go".
In other related news, HIM International reportedly received NT$200 mil (S$10 mil) from the production team as a form of compensation. Refuting this piece of news, a rep from HIM said, "Those are just rumours. This production team is related to Hunan television station. We're currently in the midst of talks with them and it is inconvenient to comment about this."
