[JE] News: Ella Chen is Jerry Yan’s ‘most precious treasure’

The strong friendship between Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan and singer-actress Ella Chen was evident from the bantering they shared when they met each other for a photo shoot recently.

The pair had worked together on Down with Love in early 2010. Recently, the drama was aired in Japan, where it garnered strong viewership ratings. As a New Year's special, the Japanese broadcast station even produced a photo book of the two main characters.

The temperature was only 9 degrees Celsius on the day of their photo shoot. But Jerry soon got over the cold weather when he was joined by Ella, who greeted the actor with "Xu Xu (Ella's nickname for Jerry)". Jerry also complimented Ella for "looking sexy".

Lately, Jerry and ex-flame Lin Chi-ling's past relationship received much attention. Chi-ling's mother was even embroiled into the controversy because she blamed Jerry for "impeding on other people's marriage". Many Jerry's fans were unhappy with what Chi-ling's mother said and even wanted to protest against her online.

Jerry did not seem to be affected by the matter. When talking about his 'most precious treasure', he did not mention good friend Chi-ling. Instead, he called co-star and good friend Ella his 'most precious treasure'.

"I have many people by my side, and they're all my precious treasures. Ella is one of them as well, because after working with her, I changed a lot," said Jerry.

Ella added that in the drama, her character's 'most precious treasure' was a marble. However, in reality, it was a cross she got in a church when she went to the States. The S.H.E member said she carried it wherever she went and would pray for 'wifey' Selina Jen's recovery.
