After falling ill and going through a difficult period, sweet and nice Ariel Lin is as popular as ever, with an endless stream of endorsement offers. After doing ads for a Japanese cosmetics, clothing line and video game, she was also invited to be Coca-Cola’s Greater China product endorser. Paired with her onscreen partner Wu Chun, they looked even better together in their red festive outfits.

Wu Chun’s first male lead role in Taiwan was “Tokyo Juliet,” teaming up with Ariel Lin and becoming an overnight sensation. The shy Chun was unaccustomed to doing intimate bed scenes and had to rely on guidance from director Wang Ming-tai. Although he’s older, he calls the more experienced Ariel who guided him in acting “Jiejie.” During the ad filming in Shanghai, [he] even gave her book on performance arts [or acting].

The TV ad has already been released. The two are shown wearing red outfits, visiting family for the Lunar New Year. With relatives grilling him about their relationship, a nervous Chun denied that they were a couple. An angry Ariel stepped hard on his foot, but after drinking Coke and calming down, Chun shouted: “She is my girlfriend”! This pairing of a handsome guy and a beautiful woman has fans screaming [they’re] a “superb match.”

Shortly after filming the ad, Ariel rushed on to start shooting for her new movie “Love Sick,” playing opposite Chen Bolin as a handsome doctor. Forsaking her usual long-haired young adult look, Ariel looked smart and witty (pretty, perky) in a wig in the movie. She even had a funny shot with comedian Ah Ken. Her management firm said she’s used to doing different styles [looks]. Surprised fans, however, said they almost didn’t recognize her.
