[Selina] News: Selina Jen's wedding to go on despite grandfather's death

The starlet's wedding will proceed on Oct 31, despite her grandfather's sudden death.

A series of unfortunate events seemed to be marring S.H.E member Selina Jen's wedding. Last year, she was severely burnt in an on-set accident, which caused her wedding -- originally scheduled to be in April -- to be postponed to Oct 31. A week ago, her fiancé Richard Chang was accused of sowing discord between the S.H.E members. Then, two days ago, Selina's grandfather passed away suddenly.

On Sep 28, 87-year-old Grandfather Jen passed away from cerebral apoplexy. Father Jen expressed that his father had suffered cerebral hemorrhage in Dec 2009 due to the cold weather, and had been undergoing treatment since. Selina -- via her recording company -- said that a memorial service will be held for her grandfather, who is a Christian, but the date had yet to be confirmed.

There were speculations which said that the singer might postpone her wedding again, because it is taboo for the Chinese to hold a celebratory event after the death of a family member. Yesterday, Selina announced that her wedding will go on as scheduled. After her accident last year, Selina was hospitalised and started on her physiotherapy sessions immediately after she was discharged.

The starlet felt guilty that she did not have time to visit her grandfather, when he was sick. "Grandfather, I am sorry I've never visited you. I've made much progress in my physiotherapy sessions. I told Ella [Chen] to tell her grandfather, to take care of you if he sees you. Rest in peace. I'll continue to work hard. Mummy will take good care of your son [Father Jen]," Selina said. To take her mind off things, Selina, together with Richard, headed to singer A-Mei's house for a game of mahjong.

Despite having her pressure suit on, Selina's fingers were still agile, although the speed at which she picked up mahjong tiles was slow. Yesterday, Ella encouraged Selina on her microblog. "The three of us had experienced the passing of someone dear to us.

At this point in time, many people out there probably share similar experience, but the world continues to turn. Therefore, we must be practical, diligent and spend each day with love. That way, we can face our family members proudly when we return to heaven," she wrote.
