Fans hoping to see at S.H.E's Selina Jen at the annual Golden Bell Awards -- the Taiwanese equivalent of the Emmy Awards -- are in for a disappointment.
The Golden Bell Awards committee had wanted to look at Selina's health condition before deciding if they would invite her to be a presenter for the award show. However, the singer's management agency HIM International rejected the proposal yesterday.
"Selina is currently busy with her wedding preparations and will not be able to attend the Golden Bell Awards," a rep said.
The starlet, who is still attending her physiotherapy sessions, is unable to stand for a long period of time.
Additionally, her itching and aching scars would make walking the red carpet and presenting the night's award a huge challenge for the starlet. Furthermore, Selina is busy with her wedding preparations, and it would be difficult for her to put her attention elsewhere.
Responding to HIM International's statement, Golden Bell Awards producer Lee Hui Lan expressed her understanding.
"Everyone should give her loving support, if she [Selina Jen] could return to work. Then, we can all see how hard she worked to make it back into the limelight. However, it all still depends on her health condition," she said.
Selina also responded to previous rumours, which claimed that Richard is sowing discord between the S.H.E members, on her microblog.
The singer posted a paper art she made on her microblog, which symbolises that the relationship of the trio are tightly linked to one another.
Her sister, Kirsten Jen, commented through her manager that she would make time to accompany Selina to her physiotherapy sessions and would not comment on other issues.
In other related news, Hunan TV had already paid a lump sum of money to Selina, to compensate for the on-set accident which occurred last October. However, HIM International and the TV station refused to reveal the amount of payout.
