Taiwanese singer Hebe Tien, one-third of popular girl group S.H.E, was
never the outspoken one amongst the three girls, but she won
concert-goers over with her quirky quips at her second solo concert "To
My Love" in Singapore, held two nights ago (Jun 9) at the Compass
Ballroom, Resorts World Sentosa.
Engaging visuals showing the birth of a child, introduced the first part
of the concert, with the theme, "All things are created because of
love".
The LED-lit sliding doors on the stage opened to reveal an
ethereal-looking Hebe, with her red hair let down and playing the piano
to the John Lennon song "Love". Although the 29-year-old later admitted
that she was nervous during the performance, the satisfied smirk
plastered on Hebe's face when she stood up from the piano proved
otherwise.
Before performing "Dance Dance Dance", fans broke into peals of laughter
when Hebe quipped, "Since you can't stand up, use the tiny muscles on
your butt to sway along."
The concert was divided into several themes -- including "the loneliness
and disappointment in love", "the angel and demon sides of love" and
"love yourself, love your family" -- to fully express what Hebe's
perception of 'Love' is.
The petite singer performed her hits such as "Ni Tai Chang Kuang", "Hai
Shi Yao Xing Fu", "Ji Mo Ji Mo Jiu Hao" in the two-hour show and also
covered several English songs including American band Florence and the
Machine's "Girl with One Eye" and Cher's "Bang Bang".
