[Ella] News: Ella Chen breaks down on set of new movie Bad Girls

The Taiwanese singer insisted on not using a stunt double while filming the movie

Taiwanese starlet Ella Chen got more than she bargained for in her new movie, Bad Girls.
Ella who had a number of action scenes in the movie, had insisted on not using a stunt double, to make it look more realistic. However, she broke down and cried when she had to endure grueling practice sessions before the actual shoot.

When asked if she felt that the scenes were too tough for her, Ella replied with a smile, "I don't have a choice, I had a higher payout."

When the movie premiered two days ago in Taiwan, Ella's band mates, Selina Jen and Hebe Tien, sent video messages to congratulate her, moving her to tears. Hebe complimented Ella for having good acting skills, while Selina hoped that the movie will be a box office success.

Ella's kissing scenes with co-star Mike He were also the focus of media attention, since Ella will be marrying her Malaysian fiancé Alvin Lai in May.

Mike expressed that he is not afraid that Alvin would be jealous, because they "kind of know each other", to which Ella retorted, "Who's close to you?"

The actor added, "Kissing her is just like kissing another guy."

S.H.E member Ella Chen and her fiance Alvin Lai, who were in Guam recently for their wedding photo shoot, took the chance to film the music video for Ella's latest single 'Thick Skin'. During the shoot, the couple shared amazing chemistry, allowing everything to go on rather smoothly. When they saw a basketball stand, Ella pestered the production crew to play with her, and was teased, "You're as crazy as Linsanity (nickname given to Taiwanese American basketball player Jeremy Lin); I guess on certain levels, you can be known as Chen-sanity too." Unfortunately, Ella was having a bad streak, as the balls she thrown kept missing the net. In the end, the singer's fiancé picked her up and helped her do a slam dunk. However, at that moment Alvin playfully flipped Ella's skirt and exposed her underwear, causing the singer to shout, "How can you do that to me?" Ella then added, "He thought I wore extra shorts inside, so he decided to play a prank on me; but I was wearing only my underwear."

The singer is on the road to recovery but mental scars still linger

It has been more than one year since S.H.E member Selina Jen suffered from third-degree burns, after an accident occurred on the set of now-axed drama I Have a Date with Spring back in 2010.
While she's on the road to recovery, scoring her first solo endorsement since the accident, Selina has yet to forget what had happened.
At the press conference to announce her endorsement of a beauty product, Selina joked nervously, "I'm so nervous, [because] there are so many people. Who are you trying to scare?". The 31-year-old, clad in a knee-length white dress with long sleeves, later continued her interview while sitting down, because she is unable to stand for a long time.
When asked if she had forgiven Chen Ming Zhang, the director of I Have a Date with Spring, who had asked her to film the explosion scene without using a stunt double, Selina began to tear.
The singer did not say if she had "forgiven" the director, but told reporters that she had spoken to her husband Richard Chang about it a few days ago. Richard told her that a professional actress would not reject a director's request.
"Richard kept comforting me, telling me he'd do the same (not use a stunt double) if it's him. However, I feel that everyone should protect themselves," Selina said. A staff member with Selina later expressed that it is too difficult for Selina "to forgive" now.
Selina's record label HIM International had said that the director and stunt director had assured Selina all will be well when she voiced her concerns before the shoot.
HIM International added that Selina's psychiatrist encouraged her to face up to her fears and hoped that the singer could heal her mental scars through crying.

TAIPEI: Taiwan pop trio S.H.E.'s Selina Jen revealed Tuesday at a publicity event that S.H.E. will reunite and release their new album in the later part of the year, reported Taiwan media.

Although she still has to wear special protective clothing because of her injuries, and could not remain on her feet for long periods of time, Jen said she is recovering well and appeared to be in high spirits during the event.

"We are now collecting songs for our new album. I'll push the company [to hurry].

"I'll pressure them, because they don't dare to put too much pressure on me," said Jen with a laugh.

Jen's group mates Hebe Tien and Ella Chen have all embarked on solo careers, after Jen suffered serious burns in a filming accident two years ago and was forced to take a long break from showbiz.

According to Jen, work on the pop trio's new album will begin once Chen concludes the promotional activities for her new solo album.

"The three of us have now all released a solo album each," said Jen.

"I am looking forward to see what changes will occur when we get back together to release an album as a group once more."

The Taiwanese singer's fiancé made a surprise appearance at her autograph session

S.H.E member Ella Chen, who will be tying the knot on May 5, is set to release her debut EP on Mar 30.

Last Saturday (Mar 24), the singer braved the stormy weather in Taipei, to hold a pre-sale autograph session. Her fellow S.H.E band mates Selina Jen and Hebe Tien also turned up to show their support for her.

Ella's Malaysian fiancé Alvin Lai specially prepared a bouquet of white flowers for her and wrote a personal message on a card - which he wanted to be read out in public. Although it was Alvin's birthday the day before yesterday, Ella could not celebrate the day with him because she had to travel to Beijing for work. However, they had an early celebration when the singer rallied her fans to sing a happy birthday song to their "future brother-in-law".

At the interview after the event, Ella shared that Alvin would accompany her to and from work, adding that he was probably lurking in some corner and watching her secretly. She also let on that they would leave each other notes to spice up their love life.

When asked if the couple had tried for a baby during their time on Guam Island -- Ella and Alvin were there to take their wedding photos -- Ella said, "We're so tired, that we fell asleep once the lights were off."

The singer also shared that they will have about 45 tables at the wedding banquet and intend to limit the number of guests to 600. She added that all of her rumoured boyfriends will not be invited to her wedding.

Ella and her fiance Alvin Lai has gone to Guam for their wedding photo-shoot. It can be considered their early honeymoon but surprisingly, Hebe had tagged along as a lightbulb. Hebe sweetly said that "The couple's glow will outshine that of the lightbulb. No one can steal their limelight!" Selina's still in the middle of physiotherapy and couldn't travel out of the country. She went with her mom to Danshui to observe the flower blossom instead and shared that "There were more people than flowers!"

Ella has been busy promoting her first EP "I'm... Ella Chen Jia Hua" and had to take time out of her busy schedule to fly to Guam for this photoshoot. The hotel provided the couple with the presidential suite which costs NT150,000 per night. The work team consisted of over 30 people and spent around NT3.5million.

When Ella and Hebe board the Hello Kitty decorated airplane to Guam, both of them were overjoyed like little girls. Ella was given a pink apron and she even matched it with a pink hair bow, finding it to be very cute. As Ella will be busy with work, the actual honeymoon would probably have to be delayed to next year where they plan to go Europe.

Now that S.H.E member Ella Chen has found true love, she hoped the same would happen to good friend and band mate Hebe Tien.

Ella, together with her Malaysian fiancé Alvin Lai, headed to Guam Island over the weekend with an entourage of 30 people for her wedding photo shoot. Once there, the group visited the various tourist attractions, including Lovers' Cliff, which was Ella's favourite destination. This place is one of the must-visit places for couples on their honeymoon, because according to the island's legend, couples who ring the bell, found on the top of the cliff, three times, will have a long and happy life together.

The singer, who believed in the legend, made her fiancé ring the bell together, before she and Hebe rang the bell together again, hoping that the latter could share her happiness.

There was also a special place on the cliff where couples can write their names on locks and have them locked there, symbolising 'together forever'. There, Ella found a couple lock inscribed with the phrase "Sunshine Hebe" and exclaimed that it "is a good omen. I hope Hebe will find her true love too".

That night, the group enjoyed a dinner by the beach, and was watching a samba dance performance, when Ella and Alvin were asked to join in the dance on stage. Ella, who is known for her bubbly character, shook and twisted with all her might; on the other hand, Alvin did not know what he should do, tickling everyone present with his awkwardness on stage.
