The singer spends the lunar New Year at her maternal residence
Taiwanese singer Selina Jen spent her first Lunar New Year as a married woman this year, but instead of following Chinese traditions of accompanying her husband to his hometown, Selina returned home to reunite with her family.
In consideration of the star's health condition, Selina's mother-in-law had allowed her to stay home as the journey back to hubby Richard Chang's hometown in Zhanghua County was too far.
On the other hand, Selina's parents, who are not a stickler for traditions, welcomed their daughter home for the New Year.
Despite not being able to be with her hubby during the first new year since their marriage, Selina said mischievously, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder!"
The singer even uploaded a festive picture taken with her mother and her beloved dogs on her microblog.
"Mother Jen, her beloved daughter and her grandchildren (dogs) will like to wish everyone a happy Chinese New Year! We're singing karaoke at the moment and my costume today is the "fiery rabbit"! I wonder if I will win everybody (at gambling) later?" Selina wrote.
