While in Shanghai, she would call Ah Diong every night due to fear and loneliness. She asked the explosion IC two times whether it will be safe, and he assured her that it will definitely be safe. Buckets of oil & fuel were used as the director wanted it to be filmed within 1 shot, so the effects have to very strong. Unfortunately, before Selina and the male lead could escape the building, the explosions went off way earlier than expected. Selina kept crying in pain, her dress was charred and she was on fire, everyone went to use the fire extinguisher to help her. When Ella informed Ah Diong about the incident, he flew to Shanghai immediately, thinking how bad were her injuries, will she die, etc.
The first time that Ah Diong saw Selina was on the plane bringing her back to Taiwan for further treatments. Ah Diong said that Ren Ba and him kept talking and saying that everything will be alright to cover the ‘mess’, as they did not know what to expect when they saw her. Selina used to be fair, but at that moment, she was charred, with blisters and a swollen face. The doctor only announced that she’s out of danger after 30 days when she had already done all the skin grafting. Whenever the nurse tells Selina that it’s time to change her dressings, she will start crying and shivering, complaining that the morphine is useless. Whenever she’s awake, the first thing that she will do is to press the button to inject morphine into her body to ease the pain. The doctor advised her not to take in too much morphine. In the day, when it is time for Ren Ba to look after Selina, he will make sure that she does what the doctor says. At night, when it’s Ah Diong’s turn, he will help Selina to press the morphine once as he bear not see her in so much pain.
When she’s finally discharged, she was not worried about the public looking at her ‘new’ look, she was more than happy as she’s finally going home. When she got home, she wanted to go out for walk, ‘cos she was locked up in the hospital for too long. However, everyone’s worried about all the looks that people may give, and privacy matters. It wasn’t much of a problem for her, she even dared to post pictures of herself on Weibo, everyone’s amazed by her bravery and optimism.
Hebe kept visiting Selina at the hospital during the 3 months. Even Ah Diong is surprised by the number of visits that Hebe paid. Some media criticised Hebe for being too cold during the hospital discharge conference. Ah Diong said that, in his opinion, Hebe’s very nervous as she did not know what to do. The doctor told everyone that Selina was very fragile, so Hebe kept a distance away from Selina as she was afraid that she might hurt her, that’s all. When Ah Diong saw the article regarding this issue, he was even angrier than Hebe herself. He wants to tell everyone that S.H.E is a friendship which is very rare. Although one of them is unable to join the other two now, he believes that sooner or later, S.H.E will reunite!
There was once, he heard them talking about how to split the money that they had earned when Selina was in the hospital. Ella said that she will kick her brother out if he does not have money to pay for the rent.
Selina once asked Ah Diong if he will be worried about her appearance, and whether his feelings had changed. She said that she might have become a monster, a weirdo, he might have to marry a monster. He asked why is she describing herself as a monster, and she replied that it’s due to her scars. She told him that he always have other choices. He told her that ever since the incident, he does not have any thoughts of leaving her. He knows that he can’t let her go, since he can’t let her go, he can only do his best to strive ahead together with her.
