S.H.E. member Selina Jen and her fiancé Richard Chang tied the knot in front of 1,000 guests on Oct 31.
Selina also turned 30 on her wedding day, while Richard turned 39 on Nov 1. The couple booked the presidential suite at the Sheraton hotel to celebrate their birthdays with friends and family after the wedding banquet.
Selina's father had specially prepared two birthday cakes for the celebration. When making his birthday wish, Richard said, "I hope Mum and Dad will stay healthy and Selina will have a speedy recovery."
Last year, Selina spent her birthday in a hospital, due to the on-set accident which left her severely burnt.
"I spent my birthday in a hospital last year. I hope that I could spend my future birthdays in good health," the singer said. Her words left tears brimming in her family and friends' eyes.
The birthday party ended around 1.30am. Instead of returning to her parents' house, which was part of the Chinese traditional customs, Selina and Richard returned to their home at Jianguo North Road.
There, Selina took off her pressure suit and cleansed herself, with the help of everybody. The singer only got to rest at 4am, before she went for a simple physiotherapy session in the afternoon.
Selina and Richard might have to sleep in separate rooms after their wedding, but the starlet expressed happily, "Richard and I have been living, dining, attending physiotherapy sessions and spending our leisure time together. However, I finally feel that we're a married couple, after having so many people give us their blessings on our wedding. It made it seem 'real'."
In other related news, the media interviewed Richard's parents after the wedding and asked if they looked forward to having grandchildren, and if they preferred it to be a boy or girl.
Richard's father laughed, "Either one is fine!"
He was also very concerned about Selina's heath. When asked if Richard had planned for a honeymoon, Mr Chang expressed that it would have to wait until Selina is fully recovered.
Richard's mother also gave the newlyweds her blessings, "I'm really happy. I hope Richard and Selina will have eternal happiness!"
She added sentimentally, "Richard said that he would take responsibility for Selina. He is such a gentle person! I secretly hope that Selina will be good to him too."
Responding to her mother-in-law's statement, Selina replied, "Of course. Richard is nice to me; I will treat him twice as nice."
